Mom...

has influenced me a lot... has taught me a alot... has made me half the person i am.... Despite sometimes i feels that i was expected to be an adult before the actual right time,... looking on the positive side, i was introduced to value of patience, the strength of understanding, the power of listening, the magic of giving in, the skills of managing and delegating, the arts of music, the beauty of dressing fashionably, the thrill of trying various hairdo's, and the list go on and on...

I looked at my mom as a lady that has lots of potentials. She has made it all the way from a village girl from Batu Pahat. She manages to go to Secondary School despite al the limited resources that available of a farmers household. She was nearly fall into a mixed marriage where she was then been talked badly about for years... she was engaged at the age of 15!.. talking bout those days... sigh.. Anyhow,.. mom was a believer,... she wanted to make a difference to her family. She told me how she envied her frens dat had their father working as a teacher becoz they managed to get books... but she was grateful that she cud borrowed frm them. Grandma didnt like the idea of furthering to secondary school. Mom was expected to help at home with making jamu or "opak" for sale. but mom had her vision looking beyond all that...

Mom, was a good leader and a manager... she manage all 6 of us,.. she was our cook, driver, teacher, all her frens adores her,... she cud be so joyful and full of humor at times where you cud resist laughing your ass off!... mom was a chairmain of several committee, was a member of AJK Wanita Bahagian Pulai and Ketua Wanita Cawgn.. for several terms... now she gave all that up and settled with Surau and Berzanji activities.

I love you mom,.. maybe i didnt say it often enuff.. but you are one of the source of my strength. Thanks for bringing me up,.. teaching me about values of life,..caring me when i was sick,... thanks for being patience handling me during my rebellious teenage and youth crisis moments, thanks for teaching me how to cook,... and thanks for always reminding me that i'm a kakak....

I just wish that i cud one day be a mother too... and seek for your advice in being a good one... Love you mom...

We were at the back seat of the car. It was a white volvo, plat number PS 3630. I was about 6 years old. Dad was driving pass Zoo Negara,.. and heading to KL, i couldn't remember exactly where were we heading to. But as we were passing the zoo, Girl tapped on my shoulder...

Girl : "girl nampak ajen....."

Me : "apa?"

Girl : "girl nampak ajennn..."

Me : " apa???..."

Girl : " girl nampak ajennnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!....."

Mom and Dad were laughing... Girl was angry and upset that i didnt get what she was saying....

After the laposcropic surgery last June, i had my mensus every month which was good news to me. But this Nov, i had my mensus 3 times... the last 2 was after a typical condition. I was weak and quite panic about the whole thing. Last Tuesday, it had gone worst. I felt weak and dizzy. A ride in the cab to ER seems like a ride on a roller coaster...

For a moment there, i thot i'm gonna blacked out when i got out from the cab. Coz i seemed to lost my hearing for about 2-3 mins... I managed to enter the ER with my backpack and my handbag. They rushed me in. I just handed them a list of records of my mensus i managed to jot down before i left home. I was then sent to see a Gynae who happen to be one of my BFF's aunt.

My BP was high! 146/119... Uterus seems to be in normal size. i was not having a miscarriage but the reason of the bleeding cannot be determine yet. Some test will be make after 2 weeks time. I was sent to the ward and admitted. I was given pain killers for the pain. It worked well...Shortly after that a doc came and was referred by my gynae becoz of my BP. I was put under observation. It was taken by surprise that i had that hi BP despite my regular exercise, weight loss and my eating habits was always less salt and mutton/lamb was just every 6 mths.

I was grateful and touched by the well wishes from Family, friends and relatives. Thanks to Hubby for the insurance coverage, to mom, dad, dian, amin, anna, dboy... Wan, Dila & family( Forrest, Faiz, Fauzan,Fariz), Ainon, Hanif, Yusri, Afiq, Lazli, K. Eddy for visiting

Went to visit my inlaws on 3rd day after Raya Haji.... and we had a short trip to Tanjung. Abah's latest project was going bananas on having banana farm! :)

We were there for some support and helped out... we had to hopp on a boat to reach there. And before we went off, Abah showed me the Pulau they always mentioned... i really enjoyed the view...

Today was marathon of open houses... The 1st house was Kak Zah's house at PULAPOL. Going there was like walking down memory lane. Located next to my primary skool,. i had lots sweet fun memories there with frens. Being active in skool of extra curricular, i often stayed back. My house was far frm skool. I normally dropped by and play at my frens house while waiting to kill the time. I had fun at Sharon's and Azlina's and a few others.

After K. Zah's, i went to Afiq's at Ampang. Ely was there. I had a great time catching up with them. Even tapau some Nasi Dagang and daging dendeng... Next was Ely's at Bukit Jalil... and followed by Pnut's at Bukit Jelutong. I had a great day. Catching up with my BFFs..

The housing area i'm living was developed around early 80's. Hence 80% of the owners are retired citizens... Today i attended an open house at Auntie BiBah's and Uncle Z's. There i met Auntie Fauziah with 2 of her daughters, her son in law and 2 adorable grandchildren.I finally met all 3 of Auntie Bibah's son and her daughter in-law.

Enjoying Nasi Bukhary, we were served with fruits from Uncle Z's farm. Among them were Durian and Pulasan. We stayed for lil bit... and when we were about to leave, I was introduced to Kak Liza. Her house was next to Auntie BiBah's.

We ended up talking for another 45 mins. Exchanged numbers and she promised to take me out for bowling one day.

Had a video and voice call with LIL Miss Zara via YM... Pah Bedah betul budak ni... she was so talkative and all excited.... asking me questions i and telling me stories i do not understand... LOL! But when she laughed, i laughed too.... i sure was laughing at her adorable chittery words and i guess she must be laughing at my wrong responses... or my expressions.. HAhaha!..Everytime i talked to Jaja on the phone, Zara surely insist on being on d phone too...normally i'll end up singing 'I love u, u love me' By Barney...

Lunch Menu today is Ikan sardin goreng kunyit, Sayur Boncis goreng Garlic, Ayam Masak Merah and for me is Tempe goreng bercili... And I end up having the Tempe only... Makan tempe ni ingat kat Dboy.. Today is his Bday... gonna celebrate it tonite.. Dboy dgn Tempe mmg tak boleh di pisahkan... When he was jst about 8 yrs old while having lunch at a family fren's house, Dboy raised a question while looking at the dinning table from his view.." Tempeh takde ke?" LOL!!!

Mom called a few times.. asking me to send Meen 2 c a doctor... Mumeen might hv catched food poisoning. She was vomiting and having upset tummy... I was really drowsy.. but managed to get up and picked them. Mumeen looked so weak... Mom decided to go to Klinik Idzham... we normally goes to Melawati branch only when Dr Idzham was on duty... M0m wudnt mind gong to Setiawangsa branch instead even in d middle of d nite bcoz of this particular Doc... Dr Narimah..

This Doc is based at Melawati branch.. the main branch dat we hv been going since i was in primary skool. This Doc is so not friendly,.. not friendly is acceptable.. but cud u at least remove the sour face that potray as if u were forced to treat a patient? Mumeen decided to go to d nearest branch,.. Melawati... nak balik cepat katanyer... we normally call and check on who was on duty but we didnt that day. I waited in the car while they went to see the doc. Mumeen came out bout 15min later. She told me dat the Dr Narimah was on duty. She doesnt ask anything.. Mumeen mentioned d symtoms she's having. The Doc didnt say a word. She checked he BP, her temperature.. and yet never said anything... And just said,.. "ok ambik ubat"...

Mom said,.." kita ni kalau jumpa doc yang baik, suka explain,..senyum.. and etc.. blum makan ubat pun dah rasa better..."

Just arrived from Perak... I'm finally back in KL.. went to Chu Salmah's house in Ipoh again... 2 days in a row!!!... LOL! We left Kuala Kangsar about 8:45pm...Chu's sambal kuah kacang is to die for... She served Mee Kuah, Laksa, Nasi Impit and my favourite Sambal Kuah Kacang... We was there untill about 1a.m....

Next destionation was Kampar... LiL Miss Zara's crib.. ;)

We were there untill about 3:30am...and reached KL about 5am. I already miss Zara... my lil munchkin..

Still in Sauk, Perak...

After Friday Prayers, me and hubby joined the rest of the family at Taiping. Bonda's sister, Makcik Maznah is having an open house. We met Lina and Abah at Taiping Central and chilled at Starbucks before heading to Makcik Maznah's...

We were there untill around 8p.m.. We hit a few other houses after that at Chandan and Lubok. Reached home about 12midnite... Jaja, Zara and Wan arrived shortly after that.. YEay!!! my lil Zara is back!!!..

We waited for Ame from JB untill about 3am... Jaja then made Kampung Fried Rice while i made a whole loaf of french toast...

My eyes can hardly open but i might as well wait for Subuh before dozing off since it's already 5am... Hope tommorrow gonna be a great day too... Maybe we are going to Ipoh n crash Chu Salmah's house..♥

I didnt fast today... Ada tahlil at Mak Long's during lunch... They served ayam masak merah, gulai lemak ikan masin nenas, sambal kelapa/nyior, kerabu mangga... sangat sedap!!!!....♥

I really need to visit the doc becoz i've been vomiting after my meal. :(

I slept the rest of the afternoon, feeling not too well. Felt better after that thou. Managed to join FIL and the rest to Ulu Kenas, raya visits to Opah Yan's house. She was different than the last time i saw her. She's been in and out of hospital a few times. But she's still the pleasant and warm Opah i knew. She was Hubby'y late Opah's younger sister. Looking and talking to her, suddenly had me realise i miss Opah Saodah, hubby's late grandma. She was so pleasant towards me. I really miss her. She passed away 3 mths after my wedding. She was the one who places my engagement ring on my finger...

Everytime i visited her, even before i was married, she were always so pleasant... offering and serving foods of my favourite. Being raised by Johorean influence i pretty much only eats open sea fish. But i was introduced to fresh water fishes by frens and hubby's family. I ♥ Catfish/keli but i normally detached it's head before i put the fish in my plate. I remember telling Opah about that and later on my next visit i realised that al Keli served on the table was headless... LOL!

I know i will never be able to even cook the fish... eating it was a pleasure but i cannot look at the head... maybe just a glimpse... :D

As we were already at pekan Kuale,.. we dropped by at Mak Teh's and later been directed to Kak Yati's house which was just 5 minutes away. Kak Ti's served us delicious Mee Fishball Soup. Hubby had 4 servings of it!!! Kak Ti's husband is a prison warden at Taipeng Jail. We asked him lots of questions about prisoners. There was this old blind malay man who were found guilty for rapping his daughter!!!! What was wrong with this fellow?!!! sigh...

Hubby was asked questions bout misc vessels and d piracy at Somalia. Melati Dua, the 1st ship that was hijacked, was the vessel i joined for 8 mths 2 years ago.

Mom promised to call but didnt call...huhu...

I woke up today feeling down... I suddenly wish that nenek will stay in good health, talked to nenek on the phone last nite while visiting some relatives...

After helping Chu in d kitchen, i turned to UNO in FB for several hours... i even dozed off while on the game... maybe i didn't get a good sleep... Zara, Jaja and Wan left for Kulim late afternoon. It was raining heavily...

At about 5pm, i joined Chu Salmah at Mak Long's... Chatting with K.Ani, Ija, Yong and Kak Chik on the kitchen table... They were hillarious!!! As i was fasting and been watching them eating, they had packed some dishes for me for iftar.

After Isyak, hubby, me and some cousins cruising for some Fried Mee, Mee Rebus and such at Kuak... but we were there just to be disappointed coz they ran out of food... LOL!! We ended up having foods at Lenggong and dropped by at Bonda's at Sauk. I was drooling over Ikan talapia masak lemak!!!.. i had the fish without any rice while chatting with Chu and the rest... Hubby was waiting for the Ketupat Palas... I 'm not a fan of sticky rice.. but i do take it occasionally... I noticed i love talapia nowadays... yummy...

Tomorrow there will be a tahlil at Mak Long's during the afternoon... i was thinking i would still fast during the day... I hope I can managed to keep some great dishes for my iftar....

I called my family a few times.. really miss them...

Me and Jaja planned to make roti jala, chicken curry while assist Lina with her Mee Daging. But ended up with Mee Daging and Soto ayam. I was having headaches again, severe headaches...

I vomited after having my iftar... But i felt lil bit better after that. Later during the evening, i joined some relatives visited more of Hubby's relatives at nearby village along with Hubby, Zara n family.... We came home about 1a.m...

Zara was having a difficult time getting to sleep... she kept pressing Barney's chest and the theme song was played over and over again in our dark room... LOL!!!

This is what i heard over and over again... she whom speaks her own language we can hardly understand managed to hummed to the song and giggles everytime it finished...

I was fasting yesterday. I was having headaches the whole day. I tried to sleep it off....Plus the day was quite gloomy with heavy rains non-stop. Didn't go anywhere. I called mom a few times but she was busy with the gathering. They were having a blast over there. Dian told me the weather was good,.. everything went on smoothly...

I wanted to cook dinner but it seems nothing was in the freezer... out of stock....That reminds me to ask Hubby to go to the market 2moro.

I join some kids and fellow neighbours late last nite... they said they have some cool fire crackers.. And OMG!!! that was really cool!!! I had a fun time... it must have cost a fortune... But i heard some Dato' sponsored... LOL!

When i heard takbir raya,.. i was at home,my own place i called home. Its a mixture of feelings... Normally i'll be away from home on raya eve. It's either at my mom's or at Nenek's in Batu Pahat...

This year, for the very 1st time,.. i was at my HOME... I looked thru the window... i feel blessed, i feel mature, i feel that every Eid i have encountered more meanings...

When i heard the TAKBIR,.. i ran down and hugged my hubby... The 1st time we were both having Eid together in our own house. A moment of bliss...

My family dropped by before they left for Batu Pahat... It will be the 1st time for Dian to celebrate Eid as a wife. Mom shed a tear when i kiss her... I pretended i didnt see that. There will be a family gathering event at Nenek's on d 2nd day of Eid... There will be a tahlil and marhaban, telematch which i was supposed to organise (been taken over by Dian).

Me and Hubby hit the hi-way at about 1:11am.. and 2 hrs later we were already at Kuala Kangsar...Yes i do miss my family, i miss my grandma,.. i miss the smell of the foods in my grandma's kitchen... i missed the greets i will receive from my relatives that breed from 12 aunties and uncles... i miss being introduced to new members of the family... but when i saw the look on my FIL's face when we arrived,... i felt at home. I felt belong. I love the feel of being there... Maybe it wud have been merrier when late Opah was still around but Lil Zara has brought so much joy and happiness in the family...

I love being around Mak Long's family too... the visit to her kitchen and having a supper is a must..

I called Dboy,.. they were busy decorating the the tent with balloons..Hmmm... i'm gonna miss the nasi beriani gam they will be serving....

I was shocked by the news. I heard from Ainon that Rafidah Ann passed away.

I recalled chatting with her several months back on Facebook. She was such a bubbly friend. None of us know dat she was suffering from breast cancer. She hid it well. She chosed not to let others know.

Later during the afternoon, i chatted with Emi and Yaya on FB. Emi knew bout Fida's condition bout a year ago. But been told that she refused to be contacted. According to Emi, even Fida's elder sister, K.Lilis refused to talk about Fida.

Yaya told me that she met Fida 3 mths ago. She loss quite alot of weight and her skin looked bloated. She claimed that it was due to some hormon treatment. She hid it well. Yaya told me that she, Nazelyn and Asma managed to pay their last respect to Fida before the funeral. She looked so calm. K.Lilis said that she was strong person, facing and battling the cancer. She was still trying to make jokes at her condition. She refused to let people treated her like she's dying.

I will always remember Fida as my bubbly, friendly frien, my class monitor when i was form 4 and form 5, the person i saw everyday when i turn around as she sat just behind my seat in the class. She was still the same funny person i used to know when i chatted with her...

I went to PWTC yesterday with a fren i met way back in 1986. We took the same bus to school though we were not from the same school. We did contact via greetings card and letters over the years when I was in JB. We did managed to stay in touch till 1997. I bumped into her at Giant 2 months ago. I was glad i agreed to join her. I was glad i finally got out.

PEARLS OF RAIN

Couldn't really sleep, i watched a programme on channel 733 (Discovery Home & Health). Then, I heard random drops of rain from the back of the kitchen. Must've been from the awning extension. The TV reception was getting worse and so I switched it off. I reached for a coffee table sort-of-book that i had recently. It was a pictorial history of Malaysia from 1400-2004. The author, Wan Kadijah Moore was an Australian born, but has spent much of the 20 years of living in and writting about Malaysia. I reckon she married a local.

I've fairly gone thru the pictures in the book several times before... while watching tv or in between tiding up the table. But today i did managed to read it. It was indeed a good book! Haven't got to finish it coz the rain got heavier and i heard the wind whistled thru the sliding door.

And yes that kinda creeps me out... moreover, the wind chime from my neighbour's balcony jingled in crescendo!

I ended up curling in my bed with a torchlight by the bedside and Hubby's t-shirt on, hoping to be hypnotised to sleep by the sounds of the raindrops from the balcony.

My eyes were still blinking an hour later.

Well,.. I didn't really watch the perhimpunan "agong". But during the Earth Hour, I did turned on the TV to watch the news for a bit, to see how other people responded to Earth Hour...(ngelat sikit) There was a few slots on the perhimpunan. Najib's speech was lil bit cynical, perhaps towards orang yang lantang or "nasehat" pada orang yg nak pergi supaya jangan nak melantang... I never wud understand politics. It was a "tradition" in my family to had a photo taken when me and my siblings were 6yrs old, in our kindergarten wear. Mine was, of course..in black and white. Mom had it printed enlarged and framed, and hanged on the wall in sequence,...the eldest to the youngest respectively. The frames are not the same. You can guess what year/erra was the photo taken by looking at the frames. Mine was obviously the most ancient!

I recently took it all down from the wall and had sent it for reshoot, edited and printed. It was all printed in black and white.

I still remember the day I took the photo shoot, way back in 1981. Taman Melawati had no photo studio at that time. Even the rubber plantation was still around at certain areas. The school transported us to Taman Bunga Raya by a chatered school bus. We had to take turns for the shoot. But I had a problem. They couldnt find a graduation hat that fits me. I then learned that my head is...BIG! (laughing out loud)

After several attemps, finally,.. a hat that's quite fits my "slightly" big head was successfully forced onto. My bestfriend, Miza was just the opposite. She has small oval head. The teachers couldn't stop giggling looking at both of us.

I was in the 2nd row, most left. Miza was in the front row 5th from left.

Mamamia! my blog is all dusty and much decorated with spider webs... So its time to for me to start typing my thots...

I've been up and down with my mood swings, hours of watching tv, days of wondering, tonnes of words typed in chatting with close frens, family and hubby in YM, messenger, Facebook, ichat. several video calls in Skype, surfing d net looking for historical info in various war ( i didn't realise since when do i have much interest in that)... and I realised it took lotsa my time from blog hopping, gardening, updating my filing and more over going out in the sun...

However, I'm glad that I went to the Hot Air Balloon Festival in putrajaya last week. And I went on the 1st day! Hahahah!Coz was so looking fwd for dat event... and a reason to go out in the sun in such an early hour.. Kluar rumah pukul 6:45am tu... (chuckles)

I'm glad i did:

- went to see baby Balqis with amab frens

- had dinner with Ely Afiq and Lazly at Bkt Bintang.(Gosh! the seafood are heavenly great!)

- had sleepover at Ainon's wit Ojet (with energetic Akmal jumping on d bed)

- removed my excessive keloid scar on my right earlobe for the 3rd time ( takut nk gi gomen, takut kena marah nape tak gi inject every month biar tak tumbuh balik)

- join Mom and Dad with Anna and Amyn tag along for a lunch at Restaurant Jaring, Sunway ( ikan bakar and gulai tempoyak sedap giler)

I'm so looking forward for:

- Kerabi trip with Ely and Lazli!

- Reshoot and printing of photos of me and siblings when we were 6 in our kinder uniforms for the frames on my wall of fame ( kononnyer!)

- for a call for interview wit Pusrawi college (yeah, i need a job!)

my current to do list

+ re organise my wardrobe/books/office room

+ select and print photos for the frames

+ call the electrolux service ctr AGAIN

+ updating my files

+ laundry

+ start my project on painting my towel rack into white

my project lists:

+ to finish writting my children book ( well, its was barely 30% drafts)

+ thinking of painting a cartoon image of giraffe on a canvas ( knapa ye?)

+ a trip to kl Bird's Park.. ( dont know with whom...)

+ play kite with Ainon's kids at Kepong..

And i wud really love to own a nikon D90 and a wing chair in my bedroom with a floor lamp beside it! Hehehe!

I was SO looking forward for a quiet, classy, fine-dinning dinner for this event. I just wanted to actually celebrate it. At least this year. Never really have the chance before. Took a while to dolled up and get pretty and all..Just once a year... but i guess i was asking for too much.

Maybe a big dinner with more people is more like it..

I was having a flu,... been drugged by the medication... i slept the entire morning after a light breakfast and of course the medication. I woke up around half-past noon, checked my messages on my cell, then I grab my laptop by the bedside and checked my emails... responding to few emails and comments on photos I posted on Facebook... My stomach grumble lightly... I went to the kitchen to grab a bite and saw a few DVDs on the coffee table. Owh, yes! I bought some DVDs last night. While waiting for my baked potatoes done, I decided to watch Mamamia.

It was indeed a great musical. Perhaps because I love the songs.. I literally cried watching the movie. Maybe its because I'm being too emotional ( lately) or maybe I'm too attached to the songs which I practically grew up with. These songs took me back to the long journey of balik kampong with me and siblings cramping in the car singing, the journey of our short holidays to Port Dickson, Malacca, Morib and Desaru...via jalan kampong (those were the days when we had no highways and tolls). We memorised the songs by heart due to the repeatable audio that has been programmed un-intensionally to our brains. Besides ABBA gold greatest hits, mom's Benjamin S java songs and Kenny Roggers greatest hits songs were also been memorised my heart. We didn't realised that until one day Dad decided to rent a van for a trip to kampong for raya holidays. We had grown bigger and all of us couldn't fit in a sedan car. The rented MPV had no cassette player. So after a while, we got bored and started singing. We end up singing the songs from the cassette that we used to listen while we were in the car. Abba, Benjamin.S, Kenny Rogers, and Sound of the Music soundtrack...

I love Meryl Streep and Colin Firth. Meryl was so full of energy in this movie. My favourite song among all is no other than "Dancing Queen"!!! Thats the song that could make me run to the dance floor and boogie! Same goes to my karaoke routine. It will not be a complete event if I didn't sing that song, mostly terribly..

I laughed at Colin Firth's dance... at the end of the movie. He was terribly cute! And nevertheless, my high school crush, Pierce Brosnan... has never failed to amazed me. I had a crush on him since his debut in Remington Steel. I used to have his poster in my room back then, and some were at the back of my text books and files..

ANCIPATING

I'm doing my last minute baking... raya biscuits... I'm going off to Batu Pahat tomorow. According to Dad, we will be leaving by noon... but i know it'll always be late afternoon...

I still haven't finished my laundry, so don't ask me about packing yet... Owh I hate packing erghhh... I always end up bringing extra luggage because I couldn't decide on clothes... Luckly I'll be driving my own car...

Looking forward to see the glowing face of my grandma... My mamadah ( she stays at Kelantan, thus I saw her only once a year), Mak Long, Mak Ndak, Mak Uda.. owh i can't mention all of them coz my mom has 13 siblings... haahaha! I miss my cousins... i have about 60 of them..

And I'm looking forward to breathe the kampong air...

I wish all my moslem brothers and sisters.. Eid Mubarak... Hope all of you have a good one... Maaf Zahir dan Batin..

THRILL AND SUSPENSE

Bukit Kutu, Kuala Kubu Bharu...It was indeed an adventure. Especially to the beginners. I thought the "bukit" was not so challenging. I googled some info about the trip. A lot of people been there. Some of them managed to the top, some couldn't find the trail. I heard about several river crossing. And some did mention how steep the trail was.

I was eager to know how true is that. plus there were remains of 2 bungalows on the top of the hill. Used to be the weekend getaway for the British...

Of course my worries was my stamina.. can I really make it to the top? And 2nd was the leeches... I had never bitten by any. Don't know whether it will freak me out...

So we started lil bit late, 10:30. After just about 200-300M of trekking up d hill, I was already panting.... I successfully throwed out my nasi lemak I had for breakfast... lol

Actually felt much better after that...

Indeed, it was steep. According to the Renjer, macam "lemang sandar"...

We managed to get to the summit at 5p.m. I wouldn't recommend it to beginners. we've been told that the journey was considered medium level, but the raining had make it tougher.

At some point the trail were barely visible, some are dangerously steep, some were very edgy, some were slippery. We did had to crawl at certain places, slides at muddy steep tracks.It was suppose to be a day trip, not involving moonlighting. But we were delayed, the weather played a part, plus we were exhausted.

It was getting dark, luckly I had brought a head torch and a torch light. And there were other 2 torch lights in the team. We climbed down... sometimes slides down. We were in a hurry,.. to get out before dark. but the trail were confusing. The Renjer couldn't put it together. Though he's been climbiing up and down Bukit Kutu for nearly 13 years of his life. But nite trekking was different.

Due to the rain, some branches, trees were blocking the trail beside the darkness in the forest. It was tough, walking thru the jungle, without the trail, to be extra careful in the dark.

We managed to get to the trail for several yards then off trail again... At last we found another trail, barely used.. just by the orang asli maybe... and I didn't care, as long as it was leading us out... it was already midnite. My hp been ringing non stop. Occay, f.y.i there's quite good phone reception in the forest! Thank god!

Any way,.. we managed to get out and reach our car at 3a.m. My parents were so worried! My mom was on her sejaddah reading surah Yassin non-stop. Of coz my whole body aches but that was still tolerable! my toes were swollen and d nails wer all blue black. Weeks later,.. I end up losing 5 of my toe nails. Ni belum naik Everest lagi beb! LOL!

Well,.. that's a hell of an adventure for a beginner!!!

Ojet, Dboy and Aida... Hope this will not stop you from going trekking again...

Gadafi has been to Gunung Tahan b4, so I bet this one doesn't kill ya...

I may not be the richest woman on earth, I may not be the prettiest either, nor the smartest or the luckiest person that could have it all. But I'm blessed to have a bunch of good friends. Friends that brings joy to my life, who make me laugh my heart out, who I ran to for advise, who chat with me online, who sms me every now and then, who talked to me, whom I ran to when I needed a shoulder to cry on, who make fun of me, who were there when I had blind dates, (urghh don't remind me the details), who lend me their cars, who used to share clothes, make-ups, even their plate of maggi, who attended my wedding, who cried with me, who laugh at me, who were there partying with me, who introduce me to more circle of friends and foremost, who doesn't judge me.

To all my friends out there, I'm so glad out path crossed. Though maybe we are not as close as before, we cannot hang out as often as we used to but I'll never forget what we had and will always cherish what we shared...

'MISSY' IN A MISSION

1st Aug, friday 2008. Girl is not feeling very well at Melbourne. Since Amyn just finished her final semester and doing nothing at the moment, she's been requested to care for Girl. In such short notice, the flying arrangements were successfully done. Amyn will be there for 3 months. So, Raya ni Girl and Jay akan lebih meriah dengan kehadiran Amyn yang suka memasak iteww... hahaha!

Dian was there during previous Raya Haji. Oh yes, mentioning about Dian. She's getting married this November. So, Amyn, Girl and Jay will be flying back to tanah air early November. I'm so excited to have all of us around. Hubby will be around too, he'll be on 3 months leave starting middle of September. I can imagine the joy on my parents face, and Girl will be jumping happily and fill with laughter being around relatives and friends she had not seen for over 3 years...

Happy 5th Bday, Adam Faiz!

Rasa mcm baru smlm I had sleepovers at Rina's hse... borak sampai pagi... hangout at modesto's, uptown, dome... we shared a lot of things... My family was in JB, so everytime i craved for home cooked meal, Rina's mom was whom I ran to...

Rina married Faizal somewhere around 2003. Faizal was the sweetest guy!!! I was so happy for her. I went to the weddings on the both side of the family. I cried during the nikah. Occay,.. rephrase... I cried in all nikah ceremony except mine..occay?.... ironic..

Well,.. we did keep in touch. Tapi susah nak jumpa and hangout. I moved to ampang and she stayed with her mother-inlaw at Puchong. We met at my wedding on Dec1st, 2005. I was having my make-up done in the room and I heard her voice on the door.. I couldnt respond. I just had a glimpsed of her,smilling at me... with his son, Adam Faiz in her arms...

I didn't managed to talk to her... I remember waving at her from my meja pengantin... Few months later, she called and invited me to her son's Aqiqah at her parents... I went with my mom. Adam was so adorable... I saw that Faizal is a good father, he's doing great as a father... Rina too... I was so glad..

We did spoke on the phone,.. untill I was away with Ray, sailing for 8 months. Everytime I was around Malaysia's coast, I send her sms, but it was never delivered. I thought maybe she changed her number. Well, I knew back then that I can just go to her parents place and ask for her number when I got back... So , I did... but there were nobody home. So I sent her an email. I keyed in "urgent" at the top of the message... i told her that I was away for 8 months and asked whether she changed her number. Yup, I received a quick reply, but it was not good news...

They went to London because Faizal was assigned to work over there for at least 6 months. She just wrote that Faizal had passed away, there. Two months before I sent her that email. Her new mobile number was stated at the end of the email. I called her that instant! I was glad to hear her voice,.. I learned that Faizal was just merely having a fever. But after a few days, they went to see a doctor and he was admitted to the hospital. After a several tests... he was diagnosed with leukemia. He passed away a few days later. I tried to control my voice, because tears was running down my face.. I wouldn't want her to know... She was already so sad...

I asked her out a few times, but she seemed not to respond. I understand... she was still in grief. I did send her sms saying that I'll always be there if she needed anything or someone to talk to. We finally met one fine day.. had lunch at secret recipe, alpha angle... Adam tagged along... we had a long talk...

That night I received a sms from her. She said that she was glad we talked, and she was sorry that sometimes she just didnt have the mood to see or talk with anyone... She still didn't go to some places that she used to go with Fazal. She still couldn't do it yet...

We met again fews months later at KLCC for a buka puasa buffet. Adam was thrilled to see that they served sushi. erm.. me too... I SO love sushi!!! Rina was quiet for a moment. She looked at me. "Faizal and Adam loved sushi. I don't. Faizal will take Adam for sushi at least twice a month. And,... Adam did not have any since Faizal passed away..." Tears was in her eyes...

Last week was Adam's 5th Birthday. I attended his bday bash at Kidsport, great eastern mall. He was so happy. He's friends from school were there... Gosh... aku pulak yang sentimental, berair mata masa tu...

LOOKING BACK

One late afternoon, mom was cravings for bubur pengat pisang. Kedai kat blakang rumah ada jual, tapi mom like her pengat pisang sweet and not salty. So, she asked me to take her to a restaurant at Tmn Melati. We went there, but unfortunately, they didn't have it that day. So we end up having satay at Hj Samuri Satay Kajang... sunggoh jauh tersimpang dari category bubur and pengat...

The interior ada banyak gambar2 satay hawkers dari era 60's. Where it was carried in a kandar... orang yang makan biasanyer kena mencangkung. Mom cakap memang lah macam tu. Masa dulu kedai tak banyak. Itu pun kat bandar aje... Kat kampong mom tak ada pun...

I still remember when I was around 5 plus,.. 1980... my family just got back from sydney. Dad dah habis buat his Masters Degree. We settled at Jalan B2, Taman Melawati. Melawati masa tu baru sangat. Kedai pun baru nak siap. Yang ada pun mini market pernama.Sungguh sunyi bila malam. Boleh dengar bunyi harimau mengaum dari zoo kalau duduk kat luar pagi2 buta. Mana taknya, masa tu siaran tv dahlah start lambat, petang rasanya, pukul 5 ker 6. Habis siaran pun awal.. tak mcm skrg ni.. 24 jam...

Malam-malam, selalu ada orang naik motor jual putu mayam, ada yang jual sate... Me and girl melompat-lompat bila Dad kata boley beli sate... Selalunya bila ada relative datang. Dulu rumah tu memang meriah, ada ajer orang datang. Among the regulars were Pak Lang, Wak Talleh, Pak Ep, and of course our grandma's... X sabar rasanya tunggu pakcik jual sate tu... bila dia lalu jer, apalagi jerit2 lar panggil... Then the pakcik will stop... He will bbq the sate on his motor... normally jiran2 pon kluar jgk nak beli... HAPPY 34TH ANNIVESARRY MOM and DAD!

1st of July 1974

Yesterday was my parents 34th wedding annivesarry. They asked me to suggest where to go for dinner. Dad preferred somewhere near. Mom said, any where will do as long as its ala carte coz she wouldn't want to have buffet dinner. Dian will drive them. Several places been suggested. Fine dinning restaurants, Steak house, Hotels.

I dropped by at Mom's before I went to Bangsar to get something. I offered to drive them there, incase they wanted to have dinner around there. Turned up they decided to go to Armada, PJ.

To cut it short, they end up having dinner at Concorde, KL. hihihi... I was there at Mom's when they got back. Mom was in such good mood! And was rushing into the house and asked Anna to help her to unhook her outfit. We asked her how was the dinner. She answered,"Penat!" What? apa tu? penat? Then she explained, penat makan. Both of them wanted to have ala carte, but the buffet dinner was so tempting. So, they end up having buffet....Hahaha! Tu yang penat! hihihi Chomel jer...

Demam... huhu... during the weekend pulak tu... Macam2 dah planning nak buat. Tapi end up duduk kt rumah ajewww... Tempreture badan x lar panas sangat..( x ingat pun ada check x)... tp kt mata rasa panas, sore throat sikit, sakit kepala yang amat sangat and yang paling teruk sakit giler kt bahu and tangan sampai ker tapak tangan and jari jemari ku ini... Apa lar agaknyer yang aku buat sampai lenguh giler ni... Tengah tido pon boley terbangun.. sakit betul! Giler stiff shoulder back...

Ameen x tido lagi masa tu,.. dia amik lar losyen mustajab halia... and urut... lega sikit.. Tak sangka plak Ameen pandai gak urut... after half an hour nak tido tapi x boley pulak baring.. kena tiarap pulak... Nangis2 jgk aku malam tu... migrane pulak tiba2... aduhh...

Satu botol jgk losyen "mustajab" tu aku sapu... memag sedap and lega lar jgk.. rasa panas... and bau halia... The next day baru boley tido...

And tido,.. phone bunyi pun x sedar. Pagi tadi Anna tengok final Euro,.. I was sleeping upstairs... terjerit2 adik aku tu tengok bola sorang2... Sorang2 pon boley jd excited... So, dah terbangun, I decided turun minum air... Tengok dia melompat2 sorang2... hihihi..

Wanted to join her tapi rasa kepala ni berat lagi and nak baring... so I went upstairs and check email kejap. Baru nak baring balik,.. Anna bising lagi kat bawah... apa lagi tu...

And after the match habis, (and Anna was so happy sebab team dia menang) we drove to Mc D drive thru... beli happy meal pulak tu sbb nak corn cup,... Masa tgh kt counter tu and bayar dengar bunyi crash kt tepi jalan.. ada accident kot.. Coz memang ada perasan a car passed by laju giler... tau lar MRRII ni... blom pkl 6 lg... around 10 mins to 6 kot..

From our view, tak nampak apa2.. So ingat xder lah... dah dapat our Happy Meal, Anna yang memang tgh Happy pon asyik buat lawak jer... Sebelah Mc D tu, ada petronas, Mc D ni pon kt Shell,... so when I drove passes by Petronas nampak kreta putih ,.. satria kot... dah terbabas masuk petronas and langgar pagar yang dekat tempat isi air and angin... Fuhhh!!! Nasib baik tak langgar tempat petrol.... ada jugak meletop terbakar! Ternganga Anna...

We decided tak berhenti.. baru sangat jadi, orang tak ramai lagi. Tapi orang kat petronas semua kluar tolong... tak tau apa jadi to the driver... depan jer sikit, kt MRRII tu ada lg kreta yg terbabas, langgar tembok tepi bus stop... I got the feeling they all ni was racing... and memang terlanggar and both terbabas... ni mesti jam teruk kejap lagi...

Budak2 tu baru balik tgk bola kot... tapi memang laju giler...Tak tau lah racing ker or the other car baru keluar petronas and terlanggar ker... Apa2 pon,.. jangan lah bawak laju sangat... Tengok benda2 macam ni yang buat aku takut nak makan kat gerai tepi jalan, (selain prone kena ragut macam dat day), takut tunggu bus or cab tepi MRRII and any jalan besar.. jadi paranoid pulak...

Last month banyak betul wedding invitation. From my friends, friends of Dad and Mom, kawan-kawan geng marhaban and berzanji mom, relative sebelah dad... I remember when I was a teenager, I always have to be forced to follow my parents to wedding. Especially yang from distance family. Because I don't know them. They are not my parent's siblings. Why the hell do they look so glad to see Dad or Mom. I didn't get it at that time. And during those days I dunno how to appreciate Nasi Minyak yet... The whole journey back home they'll be talking bout the ceremony, and the people they were really happy to see and how they should meet more. And I was either daydreaming or singing with my siblings..So, the whole wedding thing was BOW... RING... Unless! The wedding was my parents' siblings or my cousins'. Then I'll be really happy enjoying the event because I knew so many people there, besides the bride or groom must have been close to me.

As I grew up, and was busy with studies,then work, then social activities. I always failed to join them at weddings. Or sometimes came out with lame excuses such as tired and wanted to rest for the weekend. But lately when I reach my 30's, (oopss... dah nak 33 pun) Dad and Mom are not as that energetic as before. They always ask me to drive them to places and weddings.

I still saw the joy on their faces. The same joy. But better, I knew now. How important are those people to them. Probably because they had shared so many things in the past. They grew up together. But what most important to me is that meeting them brings joy to Dad and Mom. That is priceless. U know,.. to see that look on your parents face.

Dad, mom, I hope I'll make more effort to spend more time with both of you, in more related events and see that you'll have more joyful moments. These are a few photos taken on a wedding at Pantai, Negeri Sembilan. Dad was so happy. Met his relatives, former schoolmates from King George V, a makcik (was a kakak to him) whom save him from drowning when he was a kid and also his grandma's youngest brother who did came to my wedding 3 years ago. Like the old days,... Dad and Mom will talk about how happy they were meeting those people all the way back to KL. And we stopped at the R&R because Dad was really hungry, he was too excited meeting people he forgot to finish his food that he left when he went to greet a former schoolmate.

We went for a dinner at Kunang-Kunang on Father's Day. Located at MRRII, just behind Shell (used to be Projet and now ada 7e)....

We all had a great time,.. we loved the calamari, crispy and fresh! Owh we love the Bandung Soda, Peach Blended and Tiramisu Mocha blended... Mom loves the Nasi Goreng Petai! But their pasta was so-so ajeww lar...

Happy Father's Day, Dad!

I remember having some quality times with dad... bookshops, library, hospitals check-ups, book exhibition... and not forgetting mamak restaurants... I remember there was one time when mom was at kampong visiting her dad. I stayed with dad because I was already in school. Dad cooked some vegetables, that end up tasting like tomyam... hahahha! which was good actually...

Dad always enjoy his kids singing. Still kids ker? Encourage us to write hence all the diaries we had...and always remind us to read a lot.(You'll know if you've seen our house.)

Dad, thanks for being a great Dad, being a very informative Dad, and being the most loving Dad! We love you Dad!

I went to see Iron Man with Ray that day. Love it tapi yang boring tu tetap lah orang Islam yang jahat kan....

Batman is coming up soon... a "must see" movie lagi. Last nite I watched Spiderman movies, back-to-back at home with Ray. Then we talked about the comics we used to read when we were younger. Superman, spiderman, and more. And not forgetting... Bujal! hahahaha! I don't know whether anybody still remember that magazine. Bujal, Bambino, "Dewan Pelajar and Kuntum", these are more educational. Not forgetting Gila-gila and Ujang (ada lagi ker?)

Bujal was the main character. Kawan dia Dogol, botak tak silap aku. Selalu curi buah jambu lepas tu kena rotan kat punggong. Ada watak orang tua, Wak Segan kot . Era 70an-80an sangat!

Yesterday, Tun Dr Mahathir announced that he quits from UMNO. Ex Kedah MB, Tan Sri Sanusi Junid Has left too. Here are more details on this.

I was not overwhelmed by this news nor surprise. I still remember how shocked, confused, angry, sad I was when I learned that Anwar and Mahathir clashed. What was happening?, I thought. Malaysia was developing to a better era, economics was giving good prospects, Foreigners Investors increasing and one of the reasons were political stability, among other aspects.

I was a proud citizen. Proud of my country, proud of Mahathir, proud of Anwar Ibrahim. These was the two person I have faith on, The two person that I gave credits for Malaysia's achievements. Two very sharp, smart, charismatic leader. Then that day came, the day I felt lost. Where am I again?

At that point. I asked myself....Why can't we all have the same agendas? Same goals? Same priorities? Why should we fight among ourselves?

I was so naive. So young and bold. Now I learned that every individuals have choices to make, thoughts to voice and needs to fulfill. And they are absolutely never the same, they differs.

So, what the heck? Stand for what you say. I'm trying to be more heard nowadays. That has been in my list of this year's resolutions. Among others, were losing weight and eat healthy. :P

So, I believe, Tun Dr Mahathir may have his reasons to say and do whatever he believes in. But I just wish that we 'll be united. We, the Malays shouldn't be fighting each other. We shouldn't. Its a loss.

Slept in really late last nite. I was chatting with one of my best fren, Dila. A lot of things was on my mind. I just really need someone to talk to. She was chatting with me while preparing dinner, there at DC. I felt better... and managed to retire and turn in to bed.

I woke up later. Checked my handphone. Gosh! So many missed calls and sms. But none were from the contractor. Normally they will call, and ask me to open the gate. Mmmm? they didn't turn up today. Hubby was still sleeping. I went down and look out. Nope. No contractors. Then I went to kitchen and took out the frozen chic from the fridge to defrost. Then I switched on my lap top, check my emails and facebook. Replied my sms, returned those missed calls, look through my to-do list. Lots have been pending due to my present in the house was needed as long as the contractors is working. Sigh...

Then, I did the laundry. Called a fren whom asked me to join her at lunch earlier. I asked her out for dinner instead. Another fren cudn't make it. I cooked dinner for hubby. ( terung sambal, labu masak lemak and ayam masak kicap) At around 7:30pm, my sister in-laws came by. They all watched dvd and I left around 8:30p.m

Fetched my fren, talked all the way to Bora Asmara. Apparently we both really needed to talk... We had a great time, talking our hearts out... sharing our thoughts and daily life stories. The food was good, the music was soothing and we were relaxed.!

Dropped by at 7-eleven to get some ice-creams for her children before sending her home, I called home and learned that hubbby and his siblings were having a movie marathon since evening.

I joined them, only till half an hour later my hubby suggested that I made them some snack or something. So, there I go... I made them burgers with pickles , cheese and onions on a sesame seed bun, and french fries on the side.

Yeay! That was how I spent my yesterday!
